Fiber is a thermoser product obtained by impregnating cotton cloth layers with a phenol-based resin and pressing the resulting layers one on top of the other under a certain temperature and pressure. A cloth layer is used to the desired thickness. The qualities of the cloth chosen as raw material (such as thickness, weaving density), the quality of the resin and the pressing process constitute the total quality of the product obtained.
Although its general area of ​​use is electrical insulation, it has a very wide usage range. It is used in the construction of some machine parts, in applications such as vacuum pumps, milking machines, sewer vanes, and for heat insulation of plastic injection molds for heat insulation in low temperature ranges (<1200C). It also has application areas in the production of some souvenirs and ornaments (such as pocket knives, knife handles).
