Polyethylene has a fairly low density. It has high flexibility and is impact resistant at low temperatures. It is the most economical member of the engineering plastics family. It is suitable for use in applications that do not require mechanical strength. Being suitable for food and resistant to chemicals, combined with its economy, it has found a wide application area. In this way, it has application areas such as meat cutting logs and under the knife. It does not absorb moisture. Dimensional stability is considered good.
