Polyamide is a hard plastic due to its high molecular weight and cross-linked bonds. It is a bending and abrasion resistant material and has the ability to work under load for a long time. Although it shows good mechanical properties in applications, it can cause problems in terms of dimensional stability in precisely measured applications due to its hygroscopic (moisture-attracting) feature.
Features:
• High mechanical strength
• Hardness and shock absorption feature
• Electrical insulation
• Slipperiness and high wear resistance
• Resistance to chemicals
• Very good thermal stability
• Easy processability
Usage areas:
• Parts exposed to impact loads
• Gears
• Reels
• Vibration absorbing elements
• Industrial wheel
• Bearing bushings
• General purpose engineering and maintenance applications
