PVC sheet rods are a product used in industry where high chemical resistance as well as mechanical strength is required. Therefore, it is used extensively in the manufacture of acid / base valves and plating baths. Since its impact notch resistance is low, it is not recommended for use at very low temperatures. The fact that it can be welded with its own welding wires and machines enables it to be used in chemical tank construction. It is heavier and more costly than its alternative, polypropylene.
